I have an MA in Creative Writing, am an established short story writer and a published novelist. I also have a BSc (Hons) in Biology and an MSc in Ecology. I used to work as a scientist but now edit (mostly fiction) for private clients, small presses, as well as being a core editor appraising manuscripts for Cornerstones Literary Consultancy. I also used to run a small children's press called Paws n Claws Publishing that have published children's own stories and The Jet-Set books for animal charity, The Born Free Foundation.
I wrote my first novel, a Famous Five rip-off, at the tender age of nine! Of course it was never published but it gave me a taste of what I truly wanted to be in life. I never gave up on my writing dream!
My first short story was published in 2008 and now over thirty shorts have been published in various collections and I've had a couple of competition wins! I won the inaugural Bath Short Story Award in 2013 and was shortlisted in the prestigious Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2013 with only one other UK writer.
